TFII I
The interaction between “basal machinery and upstream activators” can
be assisted by the binding of TFII-I to the “core promoter element” known
as Inr and the “upstream elements” (Roy, 2001). TFII-I is composed
of six I-repeats (R1-R6); each repeat has a helix-loop-helix motif with one
basic region at R2 (Cheriyath and Roy, 2001 and Roy, 2001). Recent experiments
showed that there are four different isoforms of TFII-II (Cheriyath and Roy,
2001). Each isoform can regulate and promote DNA transcription from
the c-fos promoters by binding to the DNA (Cheriyath and Roy, 2001).
