Paper, 5/13/99
Mean = 82.2 +/- 5, median = 84, range = 72-90, N = 28
Everyone did a credible or better job on the paper, with some really excellent
discussions, especially on gene therapy. I assigned grades
of 72, 75, 78, 81, 84, 87, or 90 according to the technical clarity of the
presentation, the interpretation and depth of thinking about the issue, the
proper use of sources, and the level of connectedness to the course.
Final, 5/21/99
Mean = 126 +/- 26 out of 200, median = 128.5, range = 61-174, N = 28
Above 140 -- excellent. Above 120 -- not bad. Below 120 -- serious gaps.
The answer key will be available in the library for at least a week, and
will be available in future years.
