The median on the second exam (4/23/02) was 64, the average was 64.3 and the standard deviation was 18.3. It seemed to me that people who scored over 60 had a good to excellent understanding of the material, but under 60 indicates significant problems. The distribution is again quite uneven.

The median on the final exam (5/21/02) was 99, the average was 99.8 and the standard deviation was 24.7. It seemed to me that people who scored over 100 had a good to excellent understanding of the material, but under 80 indicates significant problems.

Course totals: the median was 303, which ended up being a B+. The average was 295 and the standard deviation was 57. The +/- lines are admittedly rather fine, and decisions were made based mainly on improvement or lack of same.
